The wind farm Casimcea consists of 4 clusters of wind turbines located around the village Casimcea in eastern Romania. Once fully implemented, the 77 turbines with a total capacity of 201 MW will annually generate approximately 560 GWh of emission free electricity. This will replace electricity from fossil fuel based power plants in the Romanian grid and reduce up to 520,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year

The wind farm casimcea was the first wind project to receive approval as a JI project from the Romanian authorities. It is registered as a Track 1 JI project with the UNFCCC.
