  • Evaluating the feasibility of the small-scale CDM project
  • Calculation of the potential emissions reduction
  • Elaboration of the Project Design Document (PDD)

The planned project includes collection and utilization of the waste wooden sawdust of the client´s sawmill operation and from operations of around 500 small saw millers in the area. At the moment the sawdust is disposed of in piles where it decays under anaerobic conditions emitting methane. The project aims to mitigate this problem by using the waste sawdust for pellets/briquettes production – a renewable carbon neutral energy source. This project of avoidance of the methane emissions will be a small-scale waste management and fugitive emissions CDM project and generate carbon credits – CERs (certified emission reductions).
