Climate Finance and New Market Mechanisms

We assist project owners in identifying and implementing suitable carbon-based financial arrangements including debt and equity structures as well as prepayment for emission reductions certificates. We also support project owners in finding suitable buyers for their emission reduction certificates and facilitate the conclusion of Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements (ERPA) at optimum terms.

Together with actors from developing countries and bi-/multilateral donors we identify innovative climate financing options for new market mechanisms such as sector wide approaches (sector wide trading/crediting) or Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs). We prepare and select suitable concepts, evaluate costs and potential emission reductions, develop the necessary MRV (monitoring, reporting and verification) framework and give an outlook on the long-term-relevance, and the time and funding needed for implementation.
